Matt is an associate at Levy Konigsberg’s New York office, where he litigates asbestos, mesothelioma, and lung cancer personal injury claims. He is admitted to practice in New York State and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
Prior to joining Levy Konigsberg, Matt served as an assistant district attorney for three years both downstate and upstate. As a prosecutor, he handled thousands of misdemeanor cases and conducted felony narcotics investigations. He has successfully tried over a dozen cases to verdict before juries and judges. At Levy Konigsberg, Matt prosecutes his clients’ cases with the same zeal and passion he did as an assistant district attorney on behalf of victims of crime.
Following law school, Matt completed a one year clerkship with the Appellate Division, Third Department of the New York State Supreme Court. As a law clerk, he aided the Justices of the Court in deciding both criminal and civil matters by drafting recommendations and editing judicial opinions.
Matt graduated cum laude from New York Law School in 2011, where he served on the Law Review. During law school, he held a number of internships including clerking for federal judges in the Northern and Southern Districts of New York, the Litigation Bureau of the NYS Attorney General’s Office, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
He graduated cum laude from The College of St. Rose in Albany, New York in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in History/Political Science and a minor in Philosophy.
In his spare time, Matt competes in triathlons and is a member of the Asphalt Green Triathlon Club. In July 2015, he completed Ironman Lake Placid, which includes a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike, and a marathon.
