Madeleine specializes in litigating on behalf of survivors of sexual abuse. Madeleine’s litigation experience covers an extensive range of personal injury claims with an emphasis on childhood trauma and sexual violence. Madeleine’s trauma-informed practice is primarily focused on representing survivors of sexual abuse in New York and New Jersey.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to work to provide clients an avenue to reclaim their voices and tell their stories. I am always moved by the courage of survivors of sexual abuse, and I work every day to seek justice for them.”
Madeleine’s clients and cases have been featured in a multitude of publications in articles that shed light on the horrific sexual abuse suffered by her clients and on Madeleine’s efforts to seek justice and hold accountable those responsible for her clients’ life altering trauma.
Madeleine has assisted in securing millions of dollars in settlements for her clients following extensive litigation and investigation into institutions including churches, schools, youth detention facilities, foster care placements, group homes, and fire departments. In her practice, Madeleine emphasizes building trust and fostering strong bonds with her clients in order to represent their interests as zealously as possible. She prioritizes clients’ goals and stands by her clients through every step in the process from beginning to end.
Recently, she argued in Onondaga County Supreme Court, advocating on behalf of several women who were sexually abused by the Clinic Director at an addiction treatment facility. Madeleine secured favorable rulings on several motions that, if granted, would have foreclosed these survivors’ ability to proceed to a trial.
Madeleine is a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Torts and Products Liability Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of LeGal, the LGBT Bar Association. “Although I find the work I do at the firm incredibly rewarding, I also enjoy serving the local community through my pro bono work.”
