Roseton Generating Station is located less than 50 miles from New York City, in Newburgh, NY. Roseton takes its name from the former Rose Brick Company. When the company shuttered, the site was purchased by the Central Hudson Gas & Electric Company. Roseton went on-line in 1974. The dual-fired 1,242 megawatt generating station can run on fuel oil, or natural gas. Tangentially-fired Combustion Engineering boilers, and 3600 RPM General Electric turbines, power the facility.
